Dr Joseph Ong completed most of his specialist anaesthesia training in Perth, Western Australia with experience across all of Perth’s tertiary adult, paediatric and obstetric academic institutions. He also undertook training at The Prince of Wales Hospital, a tertiary teaching adult, obstetric and paediatric trauma centre in Hong Kong where he gained further anaesthesia experience in cardiothoracic, hepatobiliary surgery and robotic surgery.
He completed subspecialty training in obstetric anaesthesia at King Edward Memorial Hospital and a general fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with a focus on regional and airway anaesthesia.

Professional Interests:

Dr Ong is a staff specialist anaesthetist at Royal Perth Hospital. His interests include perioperative medicine, system and quality improvement. He has experience across a wide range of surgical specialities including orthopaedics, obstetrics, trauma, plastic, general and urological surgery.
