Dr Bright completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Her specialist training in anaesthesia was undertaken in hospitals across Australia and New Zealand, before returning to Perth with her family in 2012 to undertake fellowships in Cardio-thoracic Anaesthesia, Medical Education and Simulation.

Dr Bright participates in the ANZCA Continuing Professional Development program to keep up to date, and is accredited at the majority of Perth’s private hospitals.

Professional Interests:

Dr Bright is a Specialist Anaesthetist working in both the public and private sector across metropolitan Perth. At Royal Perth Hospital, Dr Bright has the opportunity to educate and train junior anaesthetists, as well as provide support to trainees and colleagues in her role as Wellbeing Advocate for the department. She instructs on a range of simulation training courses for cardiac, paediatric and airway-related life-threatening emergencies. Dr Bright is also involved in the perioperative trans-thoracic echocardiography service provided at Royal Perth Hospital.

Dr Bright has skills and experience in anaesthesia for the majority of types of surgery. Her regular anaesthetic practice includes trauma, orthopaedics, ENT, vascular, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, ophthalmology, cardiac catheterisation procedures, paediatric dental and endoscopy. She is committed to delivering safe, high quality anaesthesia care and furthermore, she loves her job!

Diploma in Child Health (University of Otago, 1999)
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA, 2011)
Graduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound (University of Melbourne)
